10 Best One-Hit Wonders In Rock Music History

6. You Get What You Give - New Radicals

In 2021, at the inauguration of US President Joe Biden, the band New Radicals reunited for the first time in over two decades to play the song You Get What You Give.

The track had become something of a theme song for both Biden and his running buddy Kamala Harris, which was enough to resurrect a once-promising act from their musical graves.

New Radicals' first album, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, did alright when it came out in 1998. It charted well, sold well, and gave the world the aforementioned single.

You Get What You Give broke the top 5 in the UK and is easily the band's best-known song. That might be because they disbanded almost as soon as it came out.

Lead singer Gregg Alexander got fed up with the frantic promotional schedule for this record and decided that one big hit was enough. In terms of New Radicals as a musical entity, that was it until the POTUS came calling.

In terms of a career in music, it doesn't get much more unique than writing a hit song, breaking up, and then reforming to play for the President.
