10 Best One-Hit Wonders In Rock Music History
5. Breakfast At Tiffany’s - Deep Blue Something
Thanks to a bunch of lads from Texas, the classic 1961 romantic film Breakfast at Tiffany's now needs to have "Film" written next to it in parenthesis.
As the lead single off Deep Blue Something's debut album from 1995, Breakfast at Tiffany's tells the story of a man attempting to win back someone's love by reminding them of what they have in common.
The best they could come up with was the movie, which the guy admits they only "kinda liked." That is not a good foundation for a relationship, fella!
People seemed to ignore this giant red flag and bought Breakfast at Tiffany's in their thousands.
It roared to the top of the UK singles chart and bagged itself a platinum record. At home, it also did well, peaking at number five.
And did Deep Blue Something manage to capitalise on the monster success of this song?
Absolutely not.
Their next single, Halo, only reached 102 in the States and didn't chart at all in the UK. The song Josey did alright, but that was all the chart action they'd ever see.
Maybe they should have ripped off another film title.
