10 Best One-Hit Wonders In Rock Music History

4. Butterfly - Crazy Town

Remember when rap rock was a thing?

Those were dark times...

Whilst bands like Limp Bizkit and Rage Against the Machine have found themselves an audience outside of the aughts, one group that just couldn't recapture that lightning in a bottle was Crazy Town.

Forming in 1995, the group released their debut album The Gift of Game in 1999. It was largely unremarkable, except for one chilled out, laid back groovy tune.

Butterfly (which is the nickname of the singer's beau and not an ode to lepidopterology) took the world by storm when it was released as a single in 2000.

Using a sample from an old Red Hot Chili Peppers song, Butterfly combined surf rock sounds with contemporary hip-hop and no doubt made Crazy Town a crazy amount of money in a crazy short period of time.

The band had no response to the single's success, as they followed up their Billboard chart-topper with a song that didn't crack the list at all.

They haven't appeared on any chart of any kind since 2002, likely because no one in their right mind has wanted to hear rap rock since then.
