10 Best Post-Hardcore Albums Of The 21st Century

1. Alesana €“ The Emptiness

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DOFsV0lxtQ Released in 2009, The Emptiness was Alesana€™s third full-length release and their first concept album. All of the records on this list feature some great songs, and The Emptiness is no exception with €˜The Artist€™ and lead singles €˜To Be Scared by an Owl€™ and €˜The Thespian€™ being the standout tracks here. But what sets this album apart from the rest is its story, based on Edgar Allan Poe€™s poem €˜Annabel Lee€™. To fully appreciate this album, it must be listened to from start to finish, interludes and all, as it draws you in through its exquisite lyrics which paint a clear picture of the unfolding plot. Oh, and the vocals from both Shawn Milke and Dennis Lee are their most powerful yet too, as the clean and unclean vocals run perfectly in tandem. For originality, no 21st century post hardcore album even comes close to this Alesana masterpiece. Did we miss any off? Let us know your favourites in the comments below!
