10 Best Posthumous Rock Music Releases

7. Chuck - Chuck Berry

The man's spotty personal life to one side, Chuck Berry was one of the most important figures in all of popular music.

He helped refine the formula that would eventually become rock 'n' roll, laying the path for the likes of Elvis and The Beatles whilst also becoming a major star in his own right.

You don't get to be a plot point in Back to the Future that easily, you know.

On Berry's 90th birthday in 2016, it was announced he would be releasing his first album of new material in almost 40 years. Sadly, before it could come out, Chuck passed away in March 2017.

Three months later, the album Chuck was unleashed into the world, with many calling it a return to form for the legend.

Channelling all the raw excitement that made him a star in the first place, Berry rolled back the years to deliver performances that men half his age would have been proud of.

This final album brought Berry's career back around to where it started, closing the loop on one of the most remarkable lives in all of music.
