The Foo Fighters frontman's name is forever entwined with the legacy of the grunge icons, but he remarkably was MIA for their debut album Bleach, only making his full LP debut with the arrival of iconic sophomore record Nevermind.
Instead, the man on the kit for that first effort was Chad Channing, whose work ultimately fell out of favour with Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic. The drummer himself was growing dissatisfied with a lack of input in the songwriting process and he duly departed, paving the way for Grohl to establish himself as one of the world's greatest sticksmen.
