The acclaimed guitarist has just returned to RHCP for his third stint with the group - and if he can replicate his particularly brilliant sonic songcraft once more, fans are in for a treat - but his original arrival to the group came on the back of tragedy.

He replaced original axe man Hillel Slovak after he died of a drug overdose, joining the group as his teenage successor - but he quickly managed to make his mark on his first record with the band, Mother's Milk, which saw his melodic prowess come to the fore. He remains the benchmark for guitarists within the group.
