10 Best Rock Albums Of 2021 (So Far)

8. Lately I Feel Everything - Willow Smith

Ok...so everything about this album feels like it shouldn't work. Here we have the latest child star from the past few years suddenly trying to show her abilities at a genre like pop punk. The last time we had something like this on our hands, Miley Cyrus made us scared for her well being on her Dead Petz project. So how the hell is the Whip My Hair girl putting out something this amazing?

Well, Willow Smith definitely made the right call transitioning into pop punk. Since it's already known to be a snotty genre as it is, this is the exact kind of thing that works for singers trying to transition into more mature music. Compared to some of the more embarrassing projects, Willow actually sounds like she put some real time into honing her craft, putting the right amount of snotty attitude into the mix without sounding forced.

Also anyone who was even trying to make a pop punk duet with Avril Lavigne was going to have to come correct, and Willow manages to actually give the pop punk princess a run for her money in some spots. Most of these albums should be called vanity projects at the end of the day. If Willow wants to go further with this though, we might be seeing her blossom into a legit pop punk heavyweight.
