10 Best Rock Bands With Only Two Members

9. They Might Be Giants

Everyone's favourite nerd rockers, They Might Be Giants are one of those bands that have been around for way longer than you might think.

John Linnell and John Flansburgh first started playing music together in 1982, with their first album coming along four years later. However, it wasn't until the early '90s that these loveable geeks finally got their shot at the big time.

Their song, Birdhouse in Your Soul, caught fire thanks to its quirky lyrics and unashamedly upbeat arrangement. The album it came from, Flood, went platinum, and the group have been symbols of alternative soft rock ever since.

Though they've played with a backing band since the '90s, Linnel and Flansburgh have remained the only constant and official members of the group. It's the chemistry between the two Johns, both creatively and personally, that has kept They Might Be Giants going for so long, as they continue to tinker with their musical styles without any concern for what is popular or profitable.

Living proof that you don't have to be massive and covered in tattoos to be rock stars, They Might Be Giants have been one of the smartest bands on the planet for some time now.
