10 Best Rock Comeback Albums

3. Back In Black - AC/DC

For any band to lose their lead singer is normally a sign that the end is near. After all, when you lose the person who was the mouthpiece for the band, there's no real way to regroup and find someone who can deliver the same amount of charisma and intensity. Especially if the shoes you have to fill were that of AC/DC legend Bon Scott.

While trying to create the followup to their smash album Highway to Hell, Scott went on a drinking binge and was found the next day dead in a car, having choked on his own vomit during the night.

After burying their singer and musical brother, Malcolm Young made it clear that he wasn't going to spend the next year of his life eulogizing his friend. He was going to carry on making music, and he knew he had to deliver the goods.

Drafting in Brian Johnson from the band Geordie, the riffs on the next record were a stroke of genius, bringing the same attitude while also serving as a fitting tribute to their fallen friend. The bell on the opening track Hells Bells alone almost feels like a funeral dirge for Bon's memory.

With it becoming one of the best selling rock and roll albums of all time, the Young Brothers kept on trucking and turned into one of the few bands that could actually cheat death.
