10 Best Rock Duos Of All Time

1. Ween

As noted, with a two-man approval system, it’s a lot easier to get the OK for crazy ideas. That’s essentially the raison d’etre of Ween, who’ve taken a wild, drunken swing at just about every genre and form imaginable, and more often than not have come up with the goods.

On one album along (their opus, The Mollusk), they try their hand at prog, electronic, sea shanty, music hall, and even straightforward rock. They’ve written mariachi murder ballads (“Buenas Tardes Amigo”), a terrifying song about spinal meningitis (“Spinal Meningitis”), and a Latin number about the importance of potassium (“Bananas And Blow”). They even managed to get a song on the Spongebob Squarepants movie.

They’re a pair of silly boys, are Dean and Gene Ween, but they’re also exceptionally gifted singers and musicians with an inexhaustible supply of melodies and a willingness to take wild risks.

The fanbase they’ve built up is one of the most dedicated in music, and Ween supporters will follow them wherever they wish to journey musically. They’ve yet to have their ambition outweigh their talent, which given their lofty ambition is seriously saying something.
