10 Best Rock Music Album Openers Of The 2010s
4. Can You Feel My Heart - Bring Me The Horizon (Sempiternal)
Though they'd been around for a little while, British alternative heartthrobs Bring Me the Horizon really got going with 2013's Sempiternal.
That's a real world, by the way. It means "everlasting". Who'd have thunk?
Thanks to songs like Sleepwalking and Shadow Moses, these tattooed lads from Sheffield were now the belles of the scary rock ball. Everyone was paying attention to them now, mainly because a track like Can You Feel My Heart was impossible to ignore.
One of the first BMTH songs to be written by keyboard player Jordan Fish, Can You Feel My Heart is about accepting certain flaws within oneself in order to make progress in life. Admittance is the first step towards growth, making this the perfect starting point for a highly introspective album.
Oli Sykes is on fine form here, screaming his little emo lungs out every chance he gets. The music is superb too; a swirling maelstrom as beautiful as it is frightening. All this put together makes for a highly engaging listening experience.
Sempiternal kicks off with a bang that showcases every member of the band at their very best.
