10 Best Rock Music Collaborations Of The 1980s

6. Bryan Adams & Tina Turner - It’s Only Love

The legendary Tina Turner passed away in May 2023 and left behind a musical legacy that few others can match.

From her days as a soul icon to her reinvention as a pop star, the iconic singer entered dozens of incredible songs into the modern canon, including this one where she paired up with Canada's most handsome man.

Sorry Ryan Reynolds, but you're no Bryan Adams.

Adams and Turner recorded the song It's Only Love for the former's 1984 album Reckless. It released as a single one year later and fans couldn't get enough of these two generational symbols.

Musically, the song is very easy; just a few chords played on a crunchy guitar. However, both performers have such a raw style of delivering their lyrics, it's impossible not to be captivated when they sing. You can feel the energy created between the two of them on the record, especially when they sing together. The chemistry is unparalleled.

A live version of the song ended up on Turner's Tina Live in Europe album from 1988. When introducing Adams, the star refers to him as "cute".

Maybe there was more chemistry there than we thought...
