5. Meeting The Master - Greta Van Fleet

When Greta Van Fleet first burst onto the scene, everyone's eyes quickly turned to Robert Plant to see if he was hurriedly ordering a paternity test. Josh Kiszka, GVF's lead singer, sounds exactly like the Led Zeppelin frontman, a comparison the band have exploited to great effect.

Greta Van Fleet have made it their mission to return folk-infused blues rocks back to the mainstream, and that stance is very present on their song Meeting the Master.

Sung from the perspective of a follower, Meeting the Master is all about the love said follower feels for the ideas and mantras espoused by their leader. In other words, hippy crap.

The video leans heavily into this aesthetic. Kiszka sings in a forest, intercut with images of virginal women stood by horses and bathing in flowery pools. Camp fires burn as members of a coven stand in a circle. It's nothing new, but it's presented in such a beautiful way that it doesn't really matter.

Greta Van Fleet can never be accused of not wearing their influences on their sleeves, and this video serves as a perfect visual link between the past and present of this style of rock.
