10 Best Slash Guitar Solos You Haven't Heard

5. Anastasia - Slash W/ Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators

For as much fun as the initial Slash solo record was, it was pretty obvious that the best tracks were the ones featuring Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge.

Soon after the sessions eventually wrapped, Slash had the idea of "stealing" Kennedy from Mark Tremonti and adding him to his solo outfit when Alter Bridge were on breaks. It could have just been a fun side project, but Slash had an axe to grind on Apocalyptic Love.

Though songs like lead single "You're a Lie" sold like gangbusters, fans have always kept "Anastasia" close to their hearts.

There have been many classic moments in Slash's career, but this one song might be his opus, as he goes through classical influences and injects some of his trademark aggression into the mix. Even when playing off of Kennedy and the rest of the Conspirators, Slash always knows how to ebb and flow between lead breaks to give the song its signature pulse.

Just when you thought Slash may have exhausted his signature bag of tricks, a song like this comes on and not only proves you wrong, but makes you rethink your initial impression of him as a guitarist. After this song's runtime end, Slash went from being one of the greatest rock guitarists to one of the most gifted individuals to ever lay his fingers across the strings.
