10 Best Stereophonics Songs

6. Mr. Writer - Just Enough Education To Perform

A slower-paced ballad with some hard-hitting lyrics, Mr. Writer came about after a journalist that toured with the band later went on to slander them in reviews. That would likely annoy anybody, but here, the anger can really be felt.

Lyrically, the song reflects the frustration and hurt that was caused by the events surrounding it, but musically, the song really shines through as a perfect example of the more gentle and softer songs that the Stereophonics are capable of, almost ironically so considering the theme of the track.

The intro, and its mixture of wah-guitars, is instantly captivating and gives the song a distinct rhythm overall. Coupled with the vocal harmonies of the chorus, as well as the keyboard solo, makes this song easily distinguishable from other 'Phonics songs.

Mr. Writer is a highlight from Just Enough Education to Perform, demonstrating how adept the group is at conveying emotion through their music, regardless of what that emotion may be.
