10 Best Two-Album Wonders In Rock Music History

3. Toto

It's all the meme songs at once! It's meme-a-mania!

In 1978, Toto put out their self-titled debut album in an attempt to hang on to that sweet '70s radio rock vibe whilst it was still good.

That album's lead single, the criminally underrated Hold the Line, did gangbusters for the group. It reached the top five on the singles chart and went double platinum; a feat that would also be achieved by the LP it came from.

Toto would have to wait four more years and three more albums before this sort of success came around again; all thanks to a certain continent.

Africa has sold over eight million copies over the years and went right to the top of the singles charts back in 1982. Thanks to the selling power of Rosanna and I Won't Hold You Back, Toto IV sold twice as many as the debut did.

Even the band's newfound ironic popularity couldn't drag their chart performances up, as their most recent album to appear on the Billboard list was Toto XIV in 2017.

Maybe they'd sell more records if they came up with more imaginative titles for them?
