10 Biggest Earworms Of All Time
5. Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
As much as disco was not a genre for the heavier side of music, you couldn't help but see some artists trying their hand at it. No matter how much rock fans may have wanted to reject it at the time, everyone from the Rolling Stones to Rod Stewart to KISS tried their hand at disco in one form or another, oftentimes with hilarious results. Then again, when you have genius songwriters at the helm, you don't have to worry about a thing.
Being the key single for Queen's album the Game, the crux of Another One Bites the Dust lives and dies on that bassline from John Deacon, which has just the right amount of notes and feel to propel the groove forward. And...that's it. Aside from the phenomenal vocal performance from Freddie Mercury, the song hardly needs anything else, with most of the interlude sections just riding on the riff for all its worth.
There's not a damn thing wrong with it either, considering that the song became one of Queen's biggest hits in America and became the inspiration for Michael Jackson before going into the studio to craft his album Thriller. Even with just a handful of notes, Another One Bites the Dust seems to be the one funky jam that keeps on giving all these years later.
