10 Biggest Feuds In Rock Music History

8. Pete Doherty Vs Carl Barât

The love hate relationship between Pete Doherty and Carl Barât generated some of the most era-defining music of the 2000s, but ultimately led to the dissolution of a band everyone thought was going to save British rock music...

Like two star-crossed lovers, the affection the two indie rockers had, and still have for one another, undoubtably runs deep. Even with their more recent live shows, the displays of love are evident with sweaty embraces and tender pecks on the cheek.

But, during the bands hay day, Doherty's penchant for heroin, drove a crack-rock shaped wedge between the two, causing unbridled animosity. Much of the tension played out in the public eye, with both members frequently posting their raw and untempered feelings towards one another on various band forums.

The nuances of their strained relationship were immortalised forever, with their single, the aptly named Cant Stand Me Now. Despite the band's quick rise to national recognition they disbanded in 2004, citing unresolvable creative and personal differences.

When the two finally reconciled, The Libertines reformed in 2014 and although they never recaptured the glory of their former days, the two enigmatic frontman seem to have put their issues aside
