10 Biggest Feuds In Rock Music History

6. Jack White Vs The Black Keys

Despite Jack White's status as one of the more celebrated and unique blues-rock musicians, it would seem he's fairly insecure when it comes to other people playing music vaguely in the same realm.

If anything, The Black Keys and The White Stripes would make have made for one hell of a line up. Both performed a version of the blues, pumped full hard rock energy, both bands consisted of two members, and hell, they even came up at a similar time, fighting the good fight, when many rock musicians were succumbing to the commercialised trappings of pop-punk. But here in lay the problem.

It all started when a private email of Jack White's was leaked, containing a series of exchanges with his former wife Karen Elson, in which he made mention of his resentment towards Dan Auerbach, for (according to White) ripping off Jack White's whole shtick.

The Black Keys Drummer, Patrick Carney initially took the moral high road, telling Rolling Stone "We’ve all said fucked-up s**t in private, and divorce is hard.” going on to denounce TMZ for leaking the private emails.

But, White continued to reference the Black Keys in interviews, before apparently squaring up to Patrick Carney one night at a bar. The confrontation was shared on Twitter by Carney, but after a few online exchanges the feud seemed to resolve itself when Carney revealed that he had spoken to White directly and cleared the air.
