10 Biggest Feuds In Rock Music History

5. Trent Reznor Vs Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson is one of he more controversial figures in rock music. During the '90s and early 2000s he was the scapegoat for all things wrong with America. Particularly, after the tragic events of the 1999 Columbine Massacre when it was falsely reported the two killers wore Marilyn Manson t-shirts.

But, despite the perhaps unfair negative attention Manson received back in the early days of his career, recent accusation of abuse by a number of women have cast his character into question.

Trent Reznor might have been the perfect man to produce the twisted gothic sound of Marilyn Manson, but he began to distance himself from Manson after a difficult working relationship in the late '90s. Stating to MOJO magazine “He is a malicious guy and will step on anybody’s face to succeed and cross any line of decency,”

Much of this animosity resulted from Manson's 1998 biography, which contained a story of how he and Reznor had assaulted a women, which Reznor vehemently rejected at the time.

After the recent allegation against The Beautiful People singer, Reznor issued another statement saying "I have been vocal over the years about my dislike of Manson - As I said at the time, the passage from Manson’s memoir is a complete fabrication. I was infuriated and offended back when it came out and remain so today."
