10 Biggest WTF Moments In 2010s Rock

6. The Flaming Lips’ Blood Album

Alternative rock outfit The Flaming Lips have never been one to do things by the book. This is the band that once released an album across four different discs that had to be played simultaneously. What was wrong with iTunes, guys?

Lead singer Wayne Coyne also once made a screen print using his own blood, which segues us nicely into this next story also involving that most vital of bodily fluids.

For Record Store Day in 2012, the band released The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends; a collection of songs made with a variety of contributors. These other musicians didn't put their imaginations into this project, they put some of their blood into it too!

The plasma of the likes of Nick Cave, Kesha, Erikah Badu, and Coldplay's Chris Martin all ended up being pressed into the record, available for purchase for just $2,500!

Hopefully this high price tag was to put people off the idea of using this to clone Chris Martin.

That's the last thing we all need right now.
