10 Bizarre Conspiracy Theories About The Deaths Of Music Icons
1. Kurt Cobain Was Murdered By Courtney Love
The 1994 death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was a decade-defining moment. The man who was regarded as a Gen X icon had apparently committed suicide in his Seattle home.
However, thanks in large part to books like Who Killed Kurt Cobain? and Love and Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain, some folks suspect foul play. There was even a 2015 docudrama, Soaked in Bleach, that also suggests he was murdered.
The person often pegged as the potential murder is his wife at the time, Courtney Love.
Soaked in Bleach presents the idea that the marriage wasn't going well and that Cobain asked for Love to be removed from his will. In turn, Love was seeking a 'vicious' divorce attorney. This scenario, if true, would at least create a plausible motive.
The flick also suggests that Love could have forged Cobain's suicide note and that he may have ingested too much heroin to be capable of killing himself with a shotgun.
While the books and film highlight some interesting things, the evidence pointing to Love as the murderer is far from damming. Still, years after the idea first surfaced, it remains one of the most talked-about urban legends associated with the death of music legend.
