10 Bizarrely Specific Music Genres You Won't Believe Actually Exist

3. Mongolian Throat Singing Rap

The art of throat singing, known as "hoomii", originated from Mongolia, spreading throughout the world, and, naturally, ending up in a rap song. Famous Mongol throat singers include Gereltsogt and Sundui, as well as the world-famous Tuvan group Huun-Huur-Tu. This very unusual tradition involves producing two distinctively audible pitches simultaneously; a very low drone underneath higher melodic notes.

This strange new genre of modern Mongolian rap is a disturbing mix of traditional hoomii, plenty of bling, fur coats, and a young Mongolian woman being intensely stared at by a nightclub full of men. Someone give that guy a Strepsil.
