4. Guns N' Roses Will Announce A New Album By The Classic Line-Up
If rumours are to be believed (and the rumours are very, very convincing) then the classic line-up of Guns N' Roses will be reuniting in 2016 to headline Coachella and subsequently tour. There's a whole bunch of evidence out there, like the fact the official Guns N' Roses website has been updated to feature the band's classic logo, or that bassist Duff McKagan shared a mysterious rehearsal photo. Oh, and there's also a strange Guns N' Roses trailer being shown before certain showings of Star Wars. It's strongly believed that the reunion will be unveiled on the Jimmy Kimmel show on the 6th of January. That's all well and good...but what about new music? Well, though the reunion is practically confirmed at this point given the number of hints and positive details, new music hasn't really been mentioned all that extensively, but it's still incredibly likely. For a start, it just makes sense commercially. It's no secret that the band has struggled to find musical legitimacy in recent years, and the release of Chinese Democracy was received as something of a rock laughing stock. The band has been working on new material but it's recently been held back, and progress has been halted. It's likely this is due to rewriting or the classic line-up writing new material. But don't take my word for it. One of the prominent industry insiders who has leaked much of the reunion tour information and apparently has life-long ties to the band has said there are plans for the reunited band to hit the studio in early 2016. It fits the time line: after the announcement is made on Jimmy Kimmel in January but before Coachella in April.
