10 Breakout Indie-Rock Stars Of 2019's Summer Festival Season

4. Sea Girls

Riding high from their inclusion in the BBC Sound of 2019 list, Sea Girls have been delivering on that promise and then some. Featuring attention-demanding guitar hooks and delightfully catchy melodies, the group have been putting out a series of indie bangers, including the outstanding All I Want To Hear You Say.

Since that nomination, they have gone on to air two singles on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show as her pick for the Hottest Record In The World, one of which is their refreshingly heart-warming new single Violet. It has been a great summer for the band, starting out by signing for Polydor in a multi-record deal before playing resounding sets at Neighbourhood Weekender, Community Festival, TRNSMT and Reading & Leeds.

With all the good momentum they've gained in 2019 so far, they're not planning on stopping anytime soon. Currently touring around Russia with Foals (yes, you read that right), they've got another headline tour of their own coming up, peaking with a huge show at Kentish Town. Once their debut album hits (hopefully by early next year), expect them to escalate into becoming one of the biggest UK indie bands of the moment.
