10 Catchiest Rock Songs That Suck

7. Girl All The Bad Guys Want - Bowling For Soup (2002)

Listening to Bowling For Soup is one of the most joyous and safest ways to rebel. Despite all the expressions of isolation and non-conformity, bands such as this, had a knack for making music that sounded derivative of every other band in the genre.

Sporting multi-coloured dye jobs and sweatbands on either wrist, these guys made nerds and loners feel validated when other music made them feel isolated. And for that, they should be commended. But you can't get away from the tedium of their sound.

When pop-punk bands weren't singing about sticking it to society - with the most commercialised and mainstream brand of rock ever to be conceived - they were singing about some rock chick that had done them over by not returning their affection. This was essentially a song about the guys from Bowling For Soup obsessing over Avril Lavigne...

Although this music was appealing to teenagers, retrospectively, these are odd themes for a bunch of dudes in their late 20s and early 30s to be singing about. Their whole thing was about not growing up, but maybe that's what they needed to do...

The music video did take some shots at Limp Bizkit, however, so they get bonus points for that.
