10 Catchiest Rock Songs That Suck

3. Heaven Is A Halfpipe - OPM (2000)

If you love smoking weed, skateboarding and doing little else, then this song will strike a chord. For a song that referenced, hitting a bong packed by Jesus, it's surprising how frequently you heard it playing in shops and leisure centres during the 2000s.

But the catchy chorus and jaunty beat infected the early 2000s psyche. For anyone who was the least bit receptive to music during this period, OPM earned a place in your Walkman CD player. Now, their only song of note, serves more as a nostalgia trigger than anything else. If you whip it on at a party full of millennials, you're undoubtably going to see some ears prick up.

This track might have been marketed to a pretty niche subculture, i.e. skateboarding stoners, but its appeal was universal. Religious figures welcoming you to the after life with a joint, was a concept we could all laugh at, but there's a reason we haven't heard anything of note from OPM since the songs release. Their overall vibe and sound is best left scoring episodes of Malcolm in the Middle.
