Nowadays it does the opposite of its raison d'être. And as for wanting it to be Christmas every day, do you really want to sit around with boring relatives, an overcooked turkey, pointless Christmas presents and a total sense of anti-climax and mild depression because you think you should be having a good time as dictated to by Wizzard? The song is unfortunately likely to stay in Christmas favour for the foreseeable future. It has been covered by a plethora of different singers and groups including musical heavyweights Liberty X and Atomic Kitten. Each cover of the song compounds how annoying it is, but the song does such business. "I Wish It Could be Christmas Every Day" will be played for generations to come as you glug down the mulled wine in despair.
