10 Christmas Songs That Make You Want To Blow Your Brains Out

3. Mistletoe And Wine - Cliff Richard (1998)

Key Lyrics Christmas time, mistletoe and wine Children singing Christian rhyme With logs on the fire and gifts on the tree A time to rejoice in the good that we see. Cliff Richard's 12th number one single in the British chartsand his 99th single release, this absolute stinker of a Christmas song was apparently not religious enough for Cliff who took steps to make the song more holy. It is just a horrible saccharine song and I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people bought the song in sufficient numbers for it to be so successful and that it was embraced as a 'classic' Christmas song. Actually, I have heard reports that the record is banned from circulation in many radio stations - this might even extend to Radio 2, which would even lose total credibility should they choose to play it. It's clear that sometimes, people just buy Christmas songs because they are Christmas songs and they feel an urge to get festive, and are hoping the Christmas song will tip them over into festivity. This will never happen with Mistletoe and Wine.
