10 Classic Albums That NO ONE CARED ABOUT

4. The Ramones - The Ramones

In a world that was dominated by the sounds of prog rock, the punk movement was something that we sorely needed to hear. With the Ramones' debut record, these misfits from the boroughs of New York made every second of each song count, cramming as much energy as they could into songs like Blitzkrieg Bop and Judy is a Punk. Then again, having the raw energy alone doesn't always translate to sales figures.

For as much as something like Blitzkrieg Bop has been played into the ground these days, The Ramones' debut is still one of the more lowlights from a raw sales perspective. While being a hit with the underground rock set, the majority of the public were still on their AOR kick, who would much rather turn the dial to listen to something like REO Speedwagon instead.

This wasn't just a fluke though...this was the sound of rock getting back to square one. After years of slogging it out with one complex arrangement after another, this kind of music became the calling card for the next generation, with a sound that was focused on how much passion you had rather than the actual amount of scales you could play. There might not be a ton of stuff on display here, but when you have songs that are this amazing, the bare essentials are really all you need.
