10. Run-DMC - "It's Like That (Jason Nevins)"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hN1SKVx31s This is one of the many instances where the original sounds eerily slow after you've listened to the much jauntier, brisker remix. It's almost as if they recorded the original track directly after coming out of an invasive dental procedure and were still coming down from the nitrous high. Then again, that kind of slow beat was probably more indicative of the era in which it was released. It was Run-DMC's first single from their self-titled debut and is still considered one of the most influential songs in their discography. But it was simply too stark and lacked the rapid dance beat the kids of the 90s were craving, a problem house DJ Jason Nevins fixed sought to fix more than a decade later, adding a layer of slickness and fire to the song that ultimately helped it become one of the biggest selling singles of the decade. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLGWQfK-6DY
