10 Clues My Chemical Romance Are Gearing Up To Release A New Album
7. They've Always Been Theatrical
Given how much time and effort My Chemical Romance has always given to planning tours and designing a rich world of imagery to ensure immersive album experiences, it is difficult to imagine that My Chemical Romance would reform without releasing new music in some shape or form.
All members have been busy with various projects since MCR disbanded, and the band has become such a brand that it’s hard to believe that they need the tour money with all the royalties that must be rolling in.
Gerard Way, often considered the band’s mastermind, has always been calculated with his directions for My Chemical Romance, and has occasionally hinted towards the ambitious long-term plans he drafted for the band in their early days. With all this in mind, it doesn’t seem likely that the ever-creative Way would agree to reunite My Chemical Romance without a grand plan for going forward.
When teasing MCR5 right before the band’s break-up, Way revealed that he had been working alongside The Black Parade costume designer Colleen Atwood to craft an immersive world. Can the fruits of this supposedly scrapped collaboration be seen in the band’s 2020 ‘An Offering…’ and ‘A summoning...’ promotional videos?
Their most recent song to date, 'Fake Your Death', seems in retrospect to explicitly point towards their 2019 reunion, so it doesn't take too much imagination to think that My Chemical Romance has even more long-term plans up its sleeves.
