6. They're More Diverse Than People Give Them Credit For
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GhDYg5ZWu8 Nickelback is one those bands that gets a lot of complaints from people saying all their songs are the same. While I will give that complaint some merit by saying that they do have quite a few songs that sound similar (hey if it ain't broke don't fix it) they're a lot more diverse than people give them credit. Nickelback can go from rock anthems like "Animals" to soft ballads like "Far Away" to country influenced songs like "Where The Good Times Gone" without any of them seeming out of place. Now I'm a Nickelback fan but even I'll admit that they get overplayed on the radio but the key thing here is that they get played on a good variety of radio stations with different formats. You can scan through the radio and hear Nickelback on a rock station, a pop station or even a country station at any given time. No radio station is safe from Nickelback. This is what's known as crossover appeal and you can't cross genres without being diverse in the first place.
