10 Cover Songs That Make Absolutely No Sense

1. Iron Man - The Cardigans

The music of the Cardigans is one of the few undiscovered gems in the history of '90s music. Compared to some of the more cutesy acts of their time, the potential of these guys seemed pretty good in the beginning, with LoveFool becoming a good frontrunner for one of the more innocent love songs of the decade. Once you start peeling back the layers of their sound though, their cover game is hilariously legit.

For any band with this sound, they have no business covering stuff like Black Sabbath, but their take on the founders of metal's songs are actually not half bad for what they are. Just when you think that you're setting yourself up for another mellow groove, you start to hear vocalist Nina Persson start singing Ozzy's iconic lines, which makes for one of the best and worst tonal clashes you'll ever have while wearing headphones.

Outside of the shock factor alone, there's something to actually respect from these covers. While they are certainly not as earth shattering as the originals, the idea of these indie pop stars getting their rocks off to Sabbath shows that they're not afraid to take a risk with what the audience expects out of them. Even though there's probably a bizarro world where these tracks got famous instead of Sabbath's originals, the music is still pretty adorable to gawk at.
