10 Craziest Onstage Incidents In Rock

5. Ace Frehley's Shocking Fireworks

From an outsider's perspective, it almost feels like you need a road map to truly navigate everything that goes into a KISS show. Given how many bombs and stage props are flying all over the place at the best of times, most people are lucky if they can make it past the first few rows relatively unscathed. Just as KISS were hitting their stride, one mishap almost signaled the end for the Spaceman.

During the tour for Alive II, the band was supposed to appear on this massive stage setup before descending down the stairs for the rest of the show. However, the side that Ace Frehley was on that night was not grounded properly, causing him to get zapped with an electric shock that blew him backwards. After soaking his hand in water though, the insistent cheering from the crowd forced him back on stage, despite not being able to feel any feeling in his left hand as he played.

Once back on the mend though, Frehley ended up turning the incident into an unforgettable song in Shock Me, which became a staple of the set once it came out on Love Gun the next year. From that point on though, you'd better believe that the crew triple-checked every single wire they had crossed for the rest of KISS' tenure.
