10 Crazy Last-Minute Changes To Famous Music Videos

7. Fallin' - Alicia Keys

Here’s one for those who love Soul and R&B – can you remember Alicia Keys’ debut song? The talented musician’s career significantly launched in the early noughties when she was just twenty years of age with the single Fallin’. It won her three Grammy awards, including Song of the Year, Best R&B Song and best Female R&B Vocal performance.

The song is about the emotions you feel when you care deeply for someone. She was inspired to write it when she was going through a rocky relationship herself.

The music video involves Keys visiting her boyfriend in prison. But the musician originally wanted the roles reversed so that she’d be the convict and her other half would visit her in jail. Since it was her debut single, the record company didn’t want the artist's first television appearance to be behind bars. The story of her criminal boyfriend would be continued in her next follow up single “A Woman’s Worth”.

Would Alicia Keys’ music career have been affected badly if she were the prisoner? No one knows but chances are, not much since people obviously loved her for her talent and passion, not for how her music videos were directed.
