10 Creepiest Paranormal Events In Rock Music

8. Is Jim Morrison really dead?

The Doors were shocking in their time. The tides of rock music may have been shifting more towards flower power, but the primal urges coming from Jim Morrison were far more sinister than many were used to. However, dabbling with darkness often leads to an early grave... or does it?

After the release of the band's bluesy comeback album, LA Woman, Morrison left for France before the recording sessions wrapped up to work on his poetry and spend time with his girlfriend, Pam Courson. As the story goes, Morrison's alcoholism had taken its toll on him by this point, which led to his eventual death in a bathtub due to heart failure. It seems like a typical rock casualty on paper, but people are still skeptical as to whether rock's darkest frontman is actually deceased.

Once the band's manager got the call of Jim's death, he flew to Paris only to find a sealed coffin that supposedly had Morrison's body in it. In rock circles, the only person to actually see Morrison dead was Courson, who died of a heroin overdose a few years afterwards. It would make sense for rock's greatest frontman to burn out rather than fade away, but who knows? Perhaps the Lizard King is still walking among us today.
