7. Hallo Spaceboy (Pet Shop Boys Remix) (1996)

Having initially seen a release on his 1995 album Outside, this industrial-tinged number enjoyed an alternative dancefloor reinvention when Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe were brought onboard to give it a new flavour at Bowie request.

Tennant added his own lyrical spin to proceedings to deliver a leftfield club smash which clambered up the UK charts to #12 - the highest the Thin White Duke would reach until Where Are We Now? cracked the top ten upon release almost two decades later.
