10 Deep-Cut Ghost Songs That You Need To Listen To

7. Satan Prayer

It's a crying shame that Opus Eponymous seems largely lost these days within Ghost's live shows, with only the stalwart banger Ritual getting a look in amongst the more arena-friendly bops the band have become famous for as of late.

Die-hard followers of the band will always sing the praises of the band's debut, but newer fans may have likely had this album slip them by due to its much simpler and straightforward approach to the band's ethos. However, that shouldn't at all stop you from cranking up Satan Prayer should you find yourself giving the album a whirl.

And whilst there's certainly no shortage of bangers on that album - as you'll later discover - Satan Prayer is one that deserves more attention than it receives. For starters, it's the most musically complex and ambitious song on the album, moving through several different changes, ideas and riffs, but somehow never veers off course.

Its light prog-rock leanings and memorable hooks have seen it endure with fans over the years, even if it has been unfairly neglected in their live shows. If you're in the mood for something a little bit different from the band, Satan Prayer is a definite starting point.
