10 Double Albums Worth Hearing Start To End

9. Arcade Fire - Reflektor

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BeyS5m23Eg After going from the most talked about buzz-worthy indie band, to winning the Grammy for Album of the Year, where is there left to go? Many bands would see a significant drop off, others would try to ride that success too far. Not Arcade Fire. Unsatisfied with settling into a comfort zone, the Montreal based band struck out, found new influences and tackled a bigger project. Heavily influence by Haitian rara music, after leaders Win Butler and Regine Chassagne took a trip to Haiti, the band brought new elements to their sound. Reflektor features far more experimentation than their previous albums, incorporating Caribbean style percussions, and more electronic instrumentation, such as synthesizers and vocal effects. Partially recorded in a Jamaican castle, Reflektor is a truly wonderful masterpiece. Arcade Fire found a way to reinvent themselves, without sacrificing the powerful songwriting that made them popular in the first place. Combining elements of disco, punk, and straight up rock, with their new found influences of rara and Jamaican music, Reflektor is a fantastic album with a wonderful variety of songs, both upbeat and soft. Best of Album 1: 1. Reflektor 2. Normal Person 3. Joan Of Arc Best of Album 2: 1. It's Never Over (Oh Orpheus) 2. Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice) 3. Afterlife
