10 Dumbest Music Videos Ever Made
8. Heaven - Warrant
The arrival of MTV ended up being a bit of a mixed blessing for the harsher side of rock and roll. While acts like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden managed to ride the waves of videos in the early days, the more poodle-haired metal coming from the Sunset Strip was starting get a lot more cartoony for its own good. It may have been fun at first, but you haven't seen cheesy until you've looked at Heaven from Warrant.
Being the composers of such classics as Cherry Pie from just a few months earlier, this is one of the most sterile looking videos that you could imagine in the dying days of hair metal, as everyone dresses up in some of the most dated white outfits as they play. It's almost like they're angels playing music down from heaven, that is if you don't care to look at the weird physiques and the macho posturing happening left and right.
While Cherry Pie may have been weird for what it was, any modern rock aficionado could probably point to a video like this as the moment where hair metal lost all of its goodwill. I mean, when you've gone to full jumpsuit status at the end of things, you can't really don the badass moniker again, right?
