An instant classic from the band's first full-length release Take This To Your Grave, Grand Theft Autumn almost didn't make it to the album, with both Stump and Wentz displaying an element of antipathy towards the track. Thankfully though, the song did make it to release, and when the band 'broke through' with their second album From Under The Cork Tree, the single saw a resurgence in popularity sending it onto the US pop charts.

The track starts with the now legendary a cappella chorus, usually taken over by the crowd at shows. Producer Sean O'Keefe came up with the idea of the intro, which Stump is said to have hated at the time. Guitars kick in straight after the opening to set a quicker pace than one might have expected, signalling a high energy carried throughout the tale of jealousy and unrequited love. With probably one of the band's most memorable choruses, Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy is an archetypal early FOB song, both lyrically and musically. Fittingly, it opens the outro 'collage' of hits on What A Catch, Donnie.
