10 Famous Bands With Rotating Lineups
7. Fleetwood Mac
There's a good half of Fleetwood Mac's discography that felt like it was made to blast out of classic rock radio. The kind of chemistry that comes with these folksy pop songs are almost perfect, sending songs like Rhiannon and Dreams into permanent rotation and any stripe of rock fan being happy to sing along whenever they come on. And like all good folksy acts of their caliber, The Mac actually found their calling in....the blues?
Before we had the likes of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham taking the reins, the original incarnation of Fleetwood Mac had Peter Green at the front, penning the kind of lowdown and dirty songs that were commonplace around '60s England at the time. They weren't just hangers on either, with songs like Albatross being favorites of the Beatles back in the day and Santana turning their song Black Magic Woman into a rock classic. Once Peter left though, the change of the guard started with Bob Welch, bringing a jazz slant to the band's sound along with Christine McVie's keyboards.
After a falling out though, Lindsey was brought in under the condition that his girlfriend Stevie could be in the band as well, making for the lineup that birthed albums like Rumours and Tusk. This was only to be the beginning of the bickering between every single member of the band, but once you got them up onstage and in front of microphones, that long standing musical chain would always keep them together.
