10 Famous Rock Music Videos Made On A Small Budget

7. I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys

Though they're titans of rock music nowadays, there was a time where the Arctic Monkeys were just a bunch of lads from Sheffield with floppy hair and big aspirations.

Alex Turner and his motley crew came to everyone's attention with the release of their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, mainly because an album with a name that long would be impossible to forget.

It was heralded by the arrival of a single, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, which was a gigantic success for the band and remains one of their most popular songs. For the video, the Monkeys went old school and filmed themselves performing the track live in the style of the music TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test. They even invested in some old cameras to get the footage to look right.

That cost to one side, there is nothing else expensive about this video. The venue is small, the audience is small, but the impact was absolutely massive.

The performance more than speaks for itself and it helped turn the band into the juggernauts we all know and love today.
