10 Flawless Rock Songs That Were Never Released On An Album
1. Real Love - The Beatles
After the Beatles' tumultuous breakup in the early '70s, the rock world was going to look a lot different. Even though they had preached for years that love was all you needed, the Fab Four were never truly able to rekindle that old flame again, and with John Lennon's assassination in 1980, they never will. Once John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame though, Yoko had the idea of trying to bring our favorite Liverpudlians back together for one last project.
As part of the Beatles Anthology, Yoko had the idea of having the remaining Beatles finish some of John's material, with each member bringing their own spin to the track. While Free as a Bird was the real patchwork job for the band to pull off, Real Love almost feels like journeying back in time as you hear it, as John strums away on his guitar about finally finding some peace in his relationship.
And while the actual song is phenomenal on its own, the music video is enough to make any Fab fan a little bit misty eyed, as every one of the band's instruments soars up into the clouds as the song plays out. The Beatles may have been writing just for their own fun in the early days, but this was going beyond just traditional rock music. This was the kind of rock and roll that could help make the world a much better place.
