10 Forgotten 2000s Bands Worth Rediscovering

7. Fleet Foxes

Towards the end of the decade, the 2000s started experiencing a folk rock revival. Acts like Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling and Bon Iver exhibited the more sensitive side of guitar-led music. These were groups made for the summer; the kind that played day time slots at festivals, helping nurse you back to life after the previous night's escapades.

Fleet Foxes' debut dropped in 2008, and fast became one of the best praised records of the decade. And, for good reason. For a debut album, this was one hell of a refined effort. Tracks like White Winter Hymnal and Mykonos contained vocal arrangements reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash; while some of the more ethereal harmonies drew comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel.

After almost a decade of nu metal being shoved down our throats, this was the blast from the past we needed. When this dropped in the summer of 2008, you wouldn't get far without hearing it. Given that the summers just round the corner, what better time to revisit the perfect album for a listlessly, lazy sunny day.
