10 Great Collaborations That Combined Different Genres

8. Get Back

What do you get if you combine the pop-punk sensibilities of Sum 41 with the lyrical stylings of Chris "Ludacris" Bridges? Something great apparently, despite what you might think.

While younger readers may be be more familiar with Ludacris from his acting work in RocknRolla and the Fast and Furious series (or for his odd feature on Justin Bieber's first single "Baby"), he has released nine albums from the late 90's onwards while racking up just shy of 25 million total copies shifted worldwide.

His track "Get Back" from 2004's "The Red Light District" was already a fairly aggressive-sounding rap song and when he collaborated with Canada's own Sum 41, the remix is pretty special. Sum 41 play the backing instrumental with the guitar and bass as distorted as ever and the drums feeling a little louder and slightly looser than usual but with Ludacris rapping over the top, it sounds as though this was the way it should have been recorded in the first place.

As Chris himself remarks in the closing of the track - "This'll be cool. Now all you gotta do is mix it down."
