10 Great Rock Bands Snubbed From The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

1. Judas Priest - 21 Years

After Black Sabbath's induction in 2006, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame finally seemed ready to include heavy metal among their hallowed halls. As the years went on though, less and less acts from the genre got picked up by the Hall's accolades, with Metallica being the only true metal band to slide through the cracks.

If the Hall were to fully embrace heavy metal's power, Judas Priest would be in without question. Coming from Birmingham, Priest fit every facet of what a metal band is. Though Sabbath always considered themselves a hard rock band, Priest were the ones who first claimed the title of heavy metal, with their twin guitar attack and screaming vocals from Rob Halford.

As Priest went through changes in sound, they continually reshaped what heavy metal would become from the riffs of British Steel to the almighty stomp of Painkiller. When it comes to heavy metal, Priest is almost synonymous with the genre, which is more than enough for admittance into the Rock Hall. One can only hope that the deciders in the Hall of Fame will one day become a part of the Judas Priest congregation.
