7. Cult Of Occult - Anti-Life
French Sludge/Doom Metal outfit Cult of Occult released their fourth studio album during a period where the proven kings of the genre Thou were throwing 3 EPs and an LP at us, to much fanfare of metalheads and critics alike. Unfortunately this seems to have potentially overshadowed their effort and Anti-Life might've fallen on deaf ears.
The album is nearly an hour long and it is sure to make you feel disgusted and leave your neck sore from the headbanging. Cult of Occult know how to produce an album that makes you wonder whether your speakers are going to be okay or if you're going to need to buy a new set once the album is over.
Some may be turned off or intimidated by the long run time of this one song, and that's quite understandable, but sometimes taking a dive off the deep end is the only way to find what you never knew you needed. Anti-Life is a monster, but it's also brilliant. What more could you ask for?
